Basic hard metal course
Course capability requirements: Basic knowledge of hard metals (i.e. tools, cutting, folding, measuring)
Course objectives: Ability to do
- eaves terminations correctly
- corner folds (dog ears/radius seams)
- Swiss folds (pinched seams)
- chimney/rooflight
- fit PREFA gutters (stop ends, expansion joints, etc.)
Course duration: Two days
Advanced hard metal course
Course capability requirements: Knowledge of fabricating and installing a hard metal roof correctly, reading and drawing technical details
Course objectives: Ability to do
- fabricating and incorporating pipes into different roofing systems
- seaming valleys into ridge/main roof
- preparing and seaming hips, ridge (without flattening the seam)
- complex details
Course duration: Two days
Façade course
Course capability requirements: Completed Advanced Hard Metal Course
Course objectives: Ability to do
- install cladding with different PREFA products
- work around windows and fabricate folded sills
- do external and internal corner
Course duration: Two days
Capping course parapet walls
Course capability requirements: Completed Advanced Hard Metal Course
Course objectives: Ability to do
- design, fabricate and install parapet wall cappings
- do different corner details (external/internal)
- do wall abutments and stop ends including flashing
Course duration: Two days
