Fast, strong and efficient: the new PREVARIO solar panel mounting system
With the new PREVARIO mounting system, PREFA offers a well-designed solution for fastening photovoltaic modules – in the usual PREFA quality, made in Austria! The system is suitable for all PREFA metal roof products and can be used in both new buildings and for renovating existing roofs. There are four variants available as mounting points: PREVARIO 3.S with the familiar PREFA mount, PREVARIO PREFALZ and PREVARIO SUNNY or Sunny Special as further solutions.
Installation only necessary on every second rafter – up to 50% fewer fastening points
The solar panel mounting system with the PREVARIO 3.S can be used in a standardised design for a ground snow load of up to 3.5 kN/m² (350 kg/m²). This means that the fastening points only need to be installed on every second rafter. For higher snow loads, an adapted design with two profile rails is used. ‘The system can therefore be used in a standardised form in more than 80 per cent of populated areas in central Europe,’ explains Bernhard Allmer, Product Manager for Photovoltaics at PREFA. ‘In practice, this means up to 50 per cent fewer fixing points, lower material costs and significantly shorter installation times for PREFA small-format roofs.’

Assembly-friendly product design
All necessary system components are supplied with the 3.6-metre-long rails, such as rail connectors, rail end caps, centre and end clamps, solar panel fall protection device, earthing and cross clamps, and cable clips.
The system is designed to be easy to install. All accessories have been designed for simple installation. For example, the rail connector can be snapped into place directly at the desired position at any time without tedious threading at the end of the rail. The system components are pre-assembled and the individual fixing material is secured against loss. Thanks to a click system, the installation of the centre and end clamps is also simple and straightforward.
The PREVARIO 3.S solar bracket also uses the tried-and-tested PREFA mount. This can be mounted on rafters or a fully supported substrate as usual. For installers, this means easy handling with familiar construction parts and shorter training times.
Strong even under high snow loads
The new PREVARIO system is also suitable for the installation of Alpine modules with a load capacity of up to 5,400 Pa. Two rails laid directly on the rafters are sufficient for this. The only limitation here is imposed by the module itself. Thanks to optimised component designs, significantly fewer rails and solar brackets are required for higher snow loads than in the cross-braced systems of other manufacturers," Bernhard Allmer continues.

The system consists of perfectly coordinated components and relies on 100% PREFA original accessories. This ensures a tested and professional roof connection for the PV system, while maintaining existing guarantee claims for PREFA roofs.
