At a picturesque winegrower’s residence in Seewinkel, Burgenland, the PREFARENZEN jury has selected 13 outstanding architectural projects for the 2027 architecture book and calendar. The buildings demonstrate how PREFA aluminium roofs and façades combine colour, form and function – from vibrant red to bright yellow accents.
A dialogue that moves people
“Over the years, the PREFARENZEN have become an important platform for architects,” says PREFA Managing Director Leopold Pasquali with pride. The award-winning projects range from detached houses in rural areas to innovative urban buildings. Each project makes a clear statement: architecture can be durable, functional and inspiring all at once.
Delved into the depth of the subject
Presenter Matthias Finkentey praises the lively discussion: “The individual working groups do not shy away from debate, and that is precisely what yields the really good results.” The photographer couple Juliane and Wolfgang Croce, who have been creatively documenting the event since the very beginning, have once again immersed themselves deeply in the dialogue this year and are taking away fresh inspiration. The photographers capture the energy and diversity of the projects and show how material, colour and design merge to form unique overall concepts.
A jury that values diversity
The 11-member jury comprises architects, project consultants and marketing managers from several countries. The judging criteria include design, ideas, execution, and integration into the surroundings and intended use – not just the material itself.
