When is PREFA’s on-roof gutter used?
PREFA’s on-roof gutter is used, for example, in buildings on property boundaries. As a result, a few centimeters can be saved on the eaves (drip edge on the roof, lower edge of the roof), and the roof drainage does not protrude onto the neighbouring property. The on-roof gutter is also used for visual reasons in listed buildings, as the roof drainage cannot be seen from below due to the gutter.
Advantages of PREFA’s on-roof gutter

Aluminium does not rust.
Also free of harmful heavy metal ions.
High-quality P.10 finish

Good for the environment
The PREFA aluminium drainage system is the best choice from an ecological point of view too. This is because aluminium does not release harmful heavy metal ions into the sewage water when gutters and pipes are constantly flushed out with rainwater, as is the case with conventional materials.
Colour range of PREFA’s on-roof gutter
PREFA’s on-roof gutter is available in the classic standard colours. The roof drainage system is part of PREFA’s complete aluminium system and is thus a perfect match for PREFA roof and façade systems, both visually and functionally.

Do you have any other questions about PREFA’s on-roof gutter?
- Primary aluminium Aluminium is obtained from bauxite, an aluminium ore named after Les Baux – the place where it was discovered. Bauxit usually consists of up to 60% alumina, iron oxide and silica. It is mainly found in South America, Australia and Africa.
- Secondary aluminium Secondary aluminium consists of recycled aluminium and is recovered from scrap metal recycling. During preparation, only 5% of the extraction energy used to produce primary aluminium is used.
